Top Hre pastor Makomo rapes follower, blames the devil

A POPULAR Apostolic Faith Mission (AFM) Harare pastor, Oliver Makomo stationed at Springvale Ruwa Assembly was Thursday dragged to court on allegations of raping his 22 year old congregant on five different occasions.

Makomo, who could not raise his head to face his followers while in the dock, appeared before magistrate, Tendai Mahwe.

This was after he arrived at the courts masked with a rug. His followers desperately tried to block the press from photographing him.

He was released on $100 bail with reporting conditions and was remanded to September 28.

Makomo was charged with four rape counts and of indecent assault.

According to prosecutors, the victim, who resides in Hatcliff, was Makomo's congregant since 2012.

It is alleged that sometime in 2012, Makomo approached the girl who was then working at some supermarket as a till operator and asked for her phone number.

With time, the complainant, who had nose bleeding problems, called Makomo seeking divine intervention. Makomo is alleged to have invited her to his office sometime in 2013 and prayed for her.

According to prosecutors, Makomo allegedly closed the door after the prayer.

He then went on to fondle, kiss the girl before inserting his fingers in her private parts reassuring her that she was going to be well.
